The Sitting Frog Zen Sangha is a Zen Buddhist community based in Phoenix, Arizona, led by Zen master and author Dogo Barry Graham. We offer Zen training that is at once rigorous and compassionate. All are welcome to practice with us.
We meet in downtown Phoenix on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Each meeting is comprised of two periods of zazen (sitting meditation), one period of kinhin (walking meditation) and a Dharma talk followed by a question-and-answer period.
The Wednesday meetings are held at 615 E. Portland St. #117 at 5th St. North of Roosevelt, in the Artisan Village middle unit facing the street. Please park on the street and be gentle when closing the gate.
These meetings run from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., but participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early. Please wear comfortable clothing in plain colors.
The Sunday meetings are held at Modified Arts 407 E. Roosevelt, and are less formal. They run from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Participants must bring their own cushions.
At each meeting, a donation of $5 is requested, but please attend, whatever your financial means, and give what you can.
Please contact us with any questions or to be added to our email list.
